Cream City Custard   

The menu at Cream City Custard offers no surprises. It's got the prerequisite burgers served on giant buns just like Kopp's; brats, fish filets and gyros complete the menu. Cream City Custard staff definitely seems to pay close attention to the details, from maintaining every inch of sparkle on the counter to construct their signature item, the Volcano Burger. The one oddity on the menu, The Volcano Burger is 1/3-pound sirloin topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, lettuce and special sauce. Cream City Custard doesn't offer much that isn't available at the other local burger/custard restaurants, but it does manage to compete in quality and cleanliness. The interior of the restaurant is gigantic and spotless. The custard is a bit more adventurous -- in a month of special flavors, there's rarely a repeat, with flavors ranging from Mandarin Orange to Rum Coconut. Sure, Cream City Custard isn't terribly original, but it would be a perfect place to stop on the way to State Fair Park.
