Indio's Place   

If your ethnic background is of the Caucasian variety, you might get a gravelly "que onda, gringo?" upon entering Indio's Place. Don't freak out; this "what's up" is usually accompanied by a smile and is merely the welcome mat at this Cesar E. Chavez Drive mainstay. Of course, it helps if you know some espaol, but bilingualism is not required. Indio's has two pool tables, a large hall for live music (Fridays and Saturdays; rancheros, banda and cumbia), Budweiser "Let's Fiesta" posters and bartenders who know how a Corona or tequila should really be served.
