While that might be a stretch to some Irish pub purists, no one can argue that McGillicuddy's always has a steaming bowl of Irish stew and a pint of Guinness ready, should you crave it. The spacious spread includes three levels: The first is the main dining area and bar, the second is a smaller bar that services the third floor, and third is a cozy dance hall. Walls don sports memorabilia and standard Irish flair (think shamrocks). This downtown institution attracts an eclectic mix of locals at all times of the day. Visit for lunch and sit amongst the suits and skirts that work downtown. Stop by on game day -- McGillicuddy's has 20 TVs to watch the game from -- and cheer on the Pack with dozens of other fun-loving sports nuts. Swing by on a weekend night and the place is packed to the gills with partygoers looking for love (or at least a pickup). And don't forget your dancing shoes; McGillicuddy's has live music every Thursday night during the summer on their giant patio.
