The granddaddy of Italian restaurants in the still heavily Italian Brady Street neighborhood, Giovanni's has been a top spot for prime veal, steaks and seafood since its opening in 1974. The restaurant has won too many awards to mention. Head chef Giovanni Safina handcuts the meats, which are brought in fresh daily and are the featured attraction. Of course, you can also get some great pasta (lasagna, spaghetti, linguini, capellini, fettucini, more), octopus salad, even a cheeseburger (during lunch) if that's your thing. Prepare to spend as much $30-$40 apiece for a full dinner; $20 apiece for lunch. The classy ambience includes handpainted murals.
