Yen Ching is consistently a favorite Chinese restaurant choice for locals. The dark, ornate woodwork and the decorative Ming accents by the entrance foreshadow the exotic flavors inside. The menu features a wide variety of soups and appetizers, and the main course includes beef, shrimp, poultry and vegetable dishes. The cucumber and sizzling rice soup is a nice alternative to the obligatory egg drop and hot-and-sour varieties. Perennial Chinese favorites, such as cashew chicken and Mongolian beef, abound -- but don't be afraid to try the more eclectic Chinese delicacies also featured on the menu. Be adventurous and go for a dish like the Imperial Deluxe with sea cucumbers.
