Just west of the Loop, in a refurbished family residence, in what used to be the Old Shell Road Grille, is Chuck's place, the latest from John Weichman, the man who brought you All Seasons, formerly at the Howard Johnson in West Mobile. Fans of that now-defunct establishment will be pleased to know that Weichman has carried over its menu (most items, anyway) to this cozy midtown location, and the food (most notably the seafood and prime rib dishes) is as delightful as ever. Start with the seafood gumbo for lunch or dinner and then venture on to a well-presented savory entree like spinach- and cheese-stuffed chicken or filet mignon au jus. Just make sure to save room for dessert -- you should never pass up the baked caramel custard.

You lost another 2 customers

My husband and I have been eating at Emilio's for the past 25 years. Unfortunately, during my last 3 visits, I've ordered the same dish (Parpadello Authentico). I ask for fresh mozzarella to be added, no grated cheese and light on the tomato sauce. It was made differently each time i've ordered it. The second time it was served with goat cheese. On all 3 occassions it was returned to the kitchen causing my husband to eat his meal alone while I waited for mine and then I ate alone. Last night, my dish was returned twice, not once. First time it was served with grated parmesan and when they returned it, the second time, it came out with no riccotta. I was so aggravated at this point that I ended up leaving without eating. We've put up with the noise and long wait in the past because we knew we would enjoy our meal, however, we don't feel it's worth the wait and aggravation any more. Emilio, stop looking at $'s and look after your customers before you lose all of them.

I have heard rave reviews about Chuck's Place. The steaks are excellent, seafood is delicious. For future reviewers, please use correct grammar/English before posting a review. This is very embarassing for our community and frankly, impossible to explain to outsiders.

YES MED WELL DONT MEAN RAW THEN RE DO DONT MEAN CHACROL ...GUESS PISSED COOK S OFF FOR SENDING IT BACK CAUSE IT WAS RAW ..SERVICE WAS BAD TOO
