My husband and I have loved eating at Ernesto's for over 15 years! The house has not changed a bit. No, it is not an upscale chain restaurant, and that is exactly why we choose to visit at every opportunity! It is one of Monroe's best kept secrets. They have some of the finest servers attending to your every need, and the food is always fresh and made to your specific order. Their salsa cannot be replicated! I love their rice with vegetable topping! You should also try a cup of their soup on a wintry day as an appetizer before your meal. Try to visit during off peek hours to ensure no waiting and a parking place!

i have had the pleasure of dining on mexican food in Mexico, New mexico, california, arizona, georgia and florida-----------------and ernesto's in monroe, louisiana, and----ernesto's food is wa-a-a-a-a-a-y better tasting than any of them!!!!!!! my son was such a fan of ernesto's that while stationed in the navy in california--he had me buy "dry" ice to transport ernesto's chips and salsa to him when i went to visit him there! bravo, ernesto's plese never change a thing about your cooking! yeah, so the old house isn't upscale---who cares? it is clean, and the food is divine!!

great mexican food. the best in town. But you certainly do need to do alittle painting and fix up.
