Dirty Donkey   

July 12 2009 It is a crying shame when an establishment who is suppose to support locals (our own) decides the almighty dollar is more important. Great music was STOPPED last night because the owner didn't want kids. This says a lot...if you can't sale alcohol and make a buck....forget it. How sad, maybe the owner will learn to support a good cause every now and then, forgetting greed for one night. We have been to Dirty Donkey quite a few times, enjoying various genre's of music and last night we were very surprised and digusted. Below The Bassline was scheduled to play, along with two other bands and we were looking forward to seeing them, only to discover the owner cancelled the booking. Yes, these groups are younger than most around here, but the TALENT was there to enjoy. We have seen them each time they play locally and all I can finish this with is, Thank Goodness for clubs such as The Club House, Fresh Brewed Coffe House;etc. They support and encourage our young people. I write this in hopes Dirty Donkey will give more thought, the next time they offically book a band, (who has played locally, liked and respected,) will, at the very least, honor their commitment and avoid giving themsleves such a negative reputation. If all they desire is a group of drunks for customers, so be it. Get whatever talent they can find to work for them.......
