This popular brewpub always has six of its own specially crafted beers on tap, and thats not including their monthly features. Some of their specialty creations include Raspberry Wheat, an auburn Oktoberfest, and Pigtail Ale -- an angelically light golden ale. A rowdy happy hour serves up hard-to-resist drink delights like mixed drinks and $2 house-made brews. And if all that beer gets your appetite revved up, fill up on discounted appetizers like potato skins, onion rings and chicken wings. You can also order from the Mad Boars full menu of entrees, which includes an array of sandwiches, seafood and heartier dishes like apple-Dijon glazed pork tenderloin, lobster and steak. During the summer, the Mad Boar fills to the rafters with families out for a bite while touring Barefoot Landing, a shopping and entertainment hot spot in Myrtle Beach. In the spring, college students on break take full advantage of the Mad Boars 99- cent beer specials. An outdoor deck overlooking a lake may also prove to be a catalyst for some romance. --C. S. Oh

It has been closed for a while, and the only brewery left in the area is Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery at Broadway at the beach. The beer there is excellent, with a wide range of a light Lager, to Raspberry Wheat, amber beers, and darker malty beers such as Nut Brown Ale . The happy hour offers the best beer and appetizer specials around!
