12th & Porter's Playroom is considered one of Nashville's best venues for rock music. Local and regional bands of all varieties love it because of the great sound and better vibe. The stage is guarded by two large angels who hang from the ceiling, watching the place fill up almost every night with an eclectic crowd of fellow musicians and hip scenesters. If you want to be seen, grab a table front and center. If you want to avoid the crowds and just listen to the music, perch yourself on a stool behind the soundboard or upstairs in the balcony. If you are a musician in need of an audience, try Daniel Tashian's 12@12th on Monday nights. -- Heather Johnson

Best sounding room in Nashville! You never know who will stop in to play. LeeRoy Parnell was there tonight...Jon Bon Jovi, Ritchie Sambora and Dave Mathews were there last week. This bar rocks!
STILL THE place to go!
12th and Porter must have been around for about 15 or 20 years by now! It still has the BEST live music in town on a regular basis, and a cool restaurant side with great food. It's comfortable to hang out in, and if you have a short attention span, there's the Pub of Love across the street...it's been remodeled. It's a little like being in New York, but with a local feel...the staff are usually artsy and interesting people, and they promote artists of all kinds by having music as well as art on the walls for sale by different people. Well worth a visit for the music, the atmosphere, the food, or just to hang out and talk!
Just for the food
I visit Nashville yearly and dine at 12th and Porter at least once while I'm in town. The pizza is to die for! I have been to two Showcases and had a wonderful time at each. If you don't visit this club for the night life, at least go for the food!
Abysmal food...
I can see how the quaint atmosphere and convenient location make this a great place to meet, but it baffles me that people recommend this place for the food. My date and shared the worst meal we could remember at this resturant. From the boiled chicken wings( yes I said boiled) to the bland food, topped off by an absolutely tasteless adn dry piece of coconut cake the meal was awful top to bottom...Service was nice...food awful!
