Probably the best honky-tonk for people-watching, Rippy's is built with huge glass windows that stretch along both the Broadway and 5th Avenue sides of the building. When the weather's right, the windows stay open, creating a patio-type feel for the drinkers, diners and dancers inside. In addition to watching the tourists stroll down Lower Broad, check out the live country bands featured seven nights a week. Featured performers include Ken Taylor, Joe Nichols, The Matt Grant Band and Tony Howard Band. Mixed drinks, domestic beer and a few imported varieties are offered at reasonable prices, and the atmosphere is clean and safe enough to bring the kids. The bar stays busy with tourists, club-hoppers and a few regulars, but after a concert at the Gaylord Entertainment Center across the street, the place is packed. -- Heather Johnson

NASHVILLE'S BEST BAR & GRILL!!

We were visiting Nashville for CMAFest in June 2006 from Wales, UK. Rippy's was the only place we went to EVERY day! Sure we did alot of bar-hopping and went to other places, but the beer was good, live music was superb, the barmaids were great fun, and the BBQ was excellent - what more could you want?!? Check out the pulled chicken sandwich, pour tons of the BBQ sauce on your fries, and wash it down with a dozen bottles of ice-cold beer! Also say 'hi' to the 'music row rejects' for me if you're there on a Wednesday or Saturday night - a great band, a great bunch of guys, AND they let me jam with them!! We came away with some great memories, a Rippy's t-shirt each, and a longtime-empty bottle of their BBQ sauce!!

World's Worst Service

We were in Nashville on vacation and I thought Rippy's looked like a fun place to get some good BBQ. We went in and waited 20 minutes before anyone even asked us if we wanted something to drink. I ordered the ribs and they were just awful I ate about one rib and decided we needed to get get dinner somewhere else. Then we had to wait to get the bill finally we just walked over to pur waiter and gave him some money so we could leave.

Was on vacation and went to rippys almost every night...The entertainment is awesome! epecially when Chris JAnson is playing...if you haven't checked him out , you need too!!! he's only 19 but he's the best out there!

Great Music and Good Food

A little on the expensive side but the ribs cannot be beat! Cold beer and a b'bque is good too! Try the baked beans! Music is out of site!
