The Country Music Hall of Fame opened in May 2001. This $37 million facility - built of limestone, painted brick and glass - boasts a total of 135,000 square feet of space on two floors. More than one million items will be on display honoring everyone from the legends in country music, like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, to the more modern- day stars like the Dixie Chicks and Garth Brooks. Visitors can see a variety of exhibits including recordings, films, costumes, instruments, personal items of the stars and artifacts. One of the most beloved pieces in the museum is the Thomas Hart Benton mural created in 1970 titled 'The Sources of Country Music,' which is 6 feet by 10 feet. The museum also includes the state-of-the-art, 214-seat Ford Theatre. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame is situated at the intersection of Fifth Avenue South and Demonbreun Street, four blocks from the Riverfront Park. -- Amie Leavitt

What an outstanding museum, you can easily spend a few hours there listening to music from all eras, watching videos, plus lots more. I can't believe people complain about the price, yes most country fans are blue collar workers like myself but it isn't cheap to run a museum & I think the price is inexpensive compared to lots of other tourist attractions in other cities. You can easily spend more these days just by going to a movie & getting some popcorn!

Country Music Hall of Fame is comparable to a visit to any of the Smithsonian museums--it's well put together. It brought back many memories. We enjoyed the interactive displays with clips of "Hee-Haw" and Minnie Pearl and Jeff Foxworthy. This was a highlight of our trip.

Country Music Hall of Fame you need to get your act together. Why don't you have the people empty their pockets as they go through the door. I am planning a trip to Nashville with In laws thatlive in Tenn. and Northern Mississippi. I was surprised to learn some of them have never been to Nashville. They live only two or three hours away. We are seeing the show at the grand ole opry. I was considering spending the afternoon at the Country Music Hall of Fame until I read the reviews and found what the prices were. Shame on you people. We will spend the day visiting some other attractions. Terry from Chicago.
