Stage On Broadway   

Owners of The Stage chose an appropriate name for this roomy club, as it offers live country music from open to close. Now the largest honky-tonk on Broadway, The Stage features a spacious dance floor in front of the stage, where performers croon with their backs to the huge glass window facing Broadway. The full bar offers a decent beer selection with the usual domestics and one or two imported varieties. However, if you have a favorite brand and the bar doesnt carry it, make a request and they might have it for you the next time you stop in. The Stage attracts a mellow crowd during the day, but really kicks in at night when the place fills with a mix of tourists, local music fans, and a cast of regular customers. If its too crowded, guests can look for a table up in the second floor balcony. While you are there, take a look at the memorabilia on the walls, including the original painting of the Highwaymen once owned by Waylon Jennings. -- Heather Johnson
