After a couple of reincarnations (Elliston Place and Arnies) this intimate spot has finally reached the end. The End of the beginning, that is, for lovers of alternative rock music and those who play it. Alternative at The End is a staple, but on occasion other genres make their way to the stage. Plus, it may be the only rock venue in town where the bartender can actually hear your order, instead of reading lips. As part of the Elliston Places host of musical venues and as little brother to the Exit/In, this intimate spot has held onto the charming, yet rockin spirit it had under other names. -- Rebecca Malone Melo
