Very Casual
By jjojonny on 09/11/2004
This is a great place for lunch. It's very casual and has a great menu selection. It has all the fried favorites but not alot of baked, grilled or broiled. The crawfish is incredible. The pork chops are excellent. The prices are reasonable and great for family and groups.

I'm used to this kind of restaurant. It's inexpensive and yummy. If you sit in the non-smoking section, you're far from the bar, so the smoke isn't bad. It's a very casual atmosphere with great seafood and salads (and video poker!). Our waiter was friendly and service was quick. I was surpised how many people were in this place! We'll probably be back because of the quaint simplicity and no-frills atmosphere.

Real good stuff

My family visits New Orleans several times a year. We always take time for F&J's. There is NO drive up appeal, and it can get smoky, but for a soft shelled crab po' boy, there's none better. The beer is always ice cold and the wait staff is always nice (unless a customer acts like an as*$ole. Although it's not my kind of fare, the french fry and gravy po' boy has it's fans!
