Granted, service isn't the greatest...

BUT what do you realy look for in a good restaurant? Good food you can't make yourself, right? I'm not the prissy type who needs to be pampered and attended to all the time, because I've been to many, many good restaurants all over the U.S. wherein the service might be superb, but the food left so much to be desired. HOWEVER, this is NOT what Nirvana leaves me with. I have not ordered one dish that made me say, "I'm not coming here again." Mirabeau5106 - you're probably working for Taj Mahal. And you obviously haven't tasted food from a good Indian restaurant, such as ones in NY or NJ, let alone a good homecooked meal from and Indian family. Nirvana is tops in my book.

I can see that your great reviews are from a few years back- does not surprise me one bit! The service at Nirvana left everything to be desired, from not greeting us in due time to not returning to the table for over 20 minutes after we were not ready to order our meal when the waiter deemed appropriate, to not taking a drink order (making it necessary for us to order drinks at the bar ourselves) or not checking on our table after the meal had been ordered without any assistance from the waiter and served at the table. I am just sorry it was not my turn to buy because the tip would have been zero!! As far as tips go: I suggest finding a restaurant that appreciates the business of local patrons anywhere but at 4308 Magazine-- Taj Mahal comes to mind 836-6859
