Rate and Write a Review The Scoop: There's a lot of fun to be had at this bazaar of a store, where everything from children's attire to funky shoes to Mardi Gras-bead lampshades to conservative socks gathers under a single roof. It's cramped, but clean, friendly, and funwell worth the weaving you'll have to do around vintage furniture draped with merchandise. Downstairs is the clothing store, where you'll find hard-core retro wear (but all new) along with more conservative items, in both cases for men, women and children. DaVinci for men and Steady Clothing for women are among the labels. Most items are moderately priced, but some shoot into the stratosphere. This is the place to dress your hipster baby, and to find costume items for older children. Up a small staircase, a loft area is separately run as UP at Winky's/Unique Products. UP specializes in functional art devised from recycled products: cookie-tin clocks, funky nightlights, and the aforementioned beads melted into lampshades, for instance. The Scene: This store is definitely a draw for the hipsters who popular the Lower Garden District, but almost any sensibility will find something to fall in love with here. It's such a fun little store that everyone is smiling, whether or not they're finding what they want.Insider Tips: Get your trendy baby clothes here; you'll have the most eclectically dressed kid on the block. The high-end items at Winky's sometimes go on extreme but unannounced sales; ask or weed through the racks.
