Seafood and Pizzas
By sweetandcandy123 on 02/17/2004
I have tried many of restaurants in my day, but R&O's is by far the best. I really enjoy the catfish because it dont have the mud taste that other places do. And also they have the freshest seafood around. It is way better then sid mars and dennies!!! take my advise and please go eat there you are missing out if you dont ge eat there.

I am sorry to rain on this parade but this restaurant is grossly overrated. During my first visit here, the floors were dirty and the gumbo was literally cold. Had to send it back twice. Many other restauarants offer better value for your money

Far and away, the best!
By donaldkientz on 11/18/2004
I remember this place when it was just a little hole-in-the-wall place around the corner from where it is now. Then it got discovered and got better known, but this hasn't spoiled it. I'm an ex-pat New Orleanian these days and this is the one place I always hit whenever I come back. The thing I almost always get is the roast beef po-boy. It comes on sesame seed-studded french bread slapped with mayo to keep the gravy from soaking too much into the bread and heaped with gravy-soaked shredded roast beef and "dressed" with lettuce tomato and pickle. I always need plenty of napkins. After I finish there is plenty that fell from my sam'ich to scoop up with my fork. Oh man, my mouth's watering just thinking about it. The menu has almost anything that you would expect to find on it. I have never ever been disappointed with a meal here.

R & O's

We most overrated restaurant in the bucktown, lakefront area. The roast beef sandwiches are less than fair; but their pizzas are the only thing close to being good food in this packed local hangout.
