For more than 30 years New Orleans restaurateur Al Copeland has been offering locals some of the most innovative dining options in town. After all, this is the man who invented Popeye's Chicken. These days, however, Copelands sights are set somewhat higher in his casually elegant eatery on Metairie's busiest boulevard. The theme is strictly 'fire and water' and evidence of each is seen from the blue waterfall entryway to the fire-and-water sunken conversation pit in the Intrigue Lounge. But food is still Copelands calling card, this time outlined in a 10-page menu that runs the gamut from Thai chicken dumplings and Asian shrimp toast to cheeseburger pizza and tournedos au poivre. Some of Copeland's signature dishes show up as well, including his now-famous Bayou Broccoli, the locally-coveted paneed chicken over creamy linguine and of course dozens of flavors of Cheesecake by the Scoop. Put that together with 125 martini flavors and an aromatherapy oxygen bar and this place is classic Copeland.

disapointing

horrible managerial staff. manager tried to make pay bar bill for these two guys sitting next to me that walked out on the bill. he said sinced i was speaking to them, i was responsible for their bill. i had to speak with a police officer to take care of it. also, food is overpriced--it's pretty much the same menu as the other copeland's restaurant only marked up a lot more.

Upscale Club Meets Fine Dining

My husband and I met my cousin who was in town for a trial briefing at the restaurant last night. The restaurant has a hip club atmosphere, that just happens to serve great food. My cousin and I had the herb crusted salmon (yum) and my husband had the bone in ribeye steak with a side of sweet potatoes that could have easily passed for a sweet dessert. We all started out with the broccoli balls (I think it was called "Bayou Broccoli" on the menu) and they were absolutely delish. The restaurant was dimly lit with music playing throughout. People were dressed in everything from jeans to dresses, to basketball jerseys. It was very comfortable and reasonably priced. We had the banana's foster dessert which came in a martini glass with coffee. It was all good. And filling. No baby portions here. My cousin got there before us and waited for us at the bar and had nothing but rave reviews about the bar area and the fireplace in the middle of the floor. Her only complaint was that the music was a little loud, other than that, Sweet Fire and Ice made for a memorable and very delicious evening

worst than expected

one waitress brought us 2 budlights but she made a mistake she was suppost to bring 1 and came back to our table to get the other budlight back. after we touched the bottle around where the hole is she took it back and then i told her she had to go throw it away well she told us that the manager made her come get it and we seen her bring it to another table. so that made me question everything the whole night when they brought my food was it someone elses that they put on the table but made a mistake and took it back after they took a bite out of it? food tasted great but i wouldnt recomment it to anyone.

upscale, but very comfortable

The restaurant looks very upscale; however, you can wear whatever is comfortable to you (jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and etc.). There is a complimentary valet parking. They have happy hour between the hours of 4-7pm half off martinis. The drinks are a bit pricey so the happy hours are great to take advantage of. I had their "Seafood Bake." It was comparable to Oyster & Shrimp fondue at Papadeux if anyone ever had that. The Crab & Shrimp bisque can use a little bit more seasoning. When you visit the restaurant, you need to leave room and experience dessert. I will definitely go back!!!!
