ESPN Zone, the block-wide sports bar in Times Square, is becoming just as favored for its game room as it is for its big-screen TVs and comprehensive national sports coverage. Enter the world beyond air hockey and foosball to indulge in any sports fantasy you've ever had. You can score on a power play in 'NHL 2 Night,' throw that crucial touchdown pass to a moving receiver when you play 'Sunday NFL Countdown' or shoot hoops at the basketball nets. Super high-tech video games let you kayak in the winter and ski in the summer, or play golf on a rainy day. If you like a little trash talk with your athletics, 'ESPN Bowling' comes with hecklers who only shut up when you roll a perfect strike. Kids are welcome here, as are those who are kids at heart. And for the latter, there's the gigantic 19th Hole, where you can grab a beer and wings and relax in front of 16-foot video walls featuring non-stop live sports coverage. -- Ashley Lederer

TERRIBLE experience / STAY away!
By vicedee on 04/23/2004
please note: * I visited this place yesterday (April 22, 2004) for the 6th time, over the last several years, and it just keeps getting WORSE!!!!! We brought my cousins (incl. a 12-year old "basketball nut", hoping to show them a good time/have lunch in Times Sq. area. Arrived at 1:20pm. - was told of a "20-30 minute wait", given a vibrating beeper, and sent to the 3rd floor "Game room". Our kids played games (VERY expensive for 10-20 minutes, before they got bored, and CASH (over $50.00!!!!) ran OUT. We waited patiently for another 10-15 minutes, while hostess said there were "2 parties ahead of us". After another 15 minutes (now pushing 1 hour!), and at least SIX parties passing us by! We finally "BOTHERED" them enough that they gave us a "check/ticket" and sent us back downstairs (entire 2nd floor is EMPTY) -where we were asked to WAIT, with another large Mob of frustrated, ANGRY! visitors -for another 15-20 minutes (MANY people LEFT at this point!), until we finally "freaked out", and were finally seated (next to the Kitchen), for our salad + burgers, at approx 3:10pm. STAY AWAY!!!! this is NO place to visit /or bring guests!

Had A Good Time
By sexylinz522 on 09/26/2004
I went here about a year and a half ago but we had a great time when we went. First thing was that there is like two seperate hostess sections and there is a longer wait on the upper level, I think it is nicer and has more room to watch the TVs. We ate on the bottom level because there was no wait. Food was good, American type - burgers, sandwiches, nachos, etc. Upstairs arcade was fun, it is a bit pricey, but not anymore than you would spend at any other arcade.
