I should've known from the disposition of some of the staff when I contacted the club to schedule my event that this was going to be a huge debacle. After paying for the entire event several weeks before it was scheduled, I was told the day before the event that the form of payment I used would not be accepted when we arrived at the club (pre-paid Visa). I opened an account specifically for a weekend event that I was hosting and used the same form of payment because I didn't want to wait for the official card to come in the mail. I didn't understand why this was an issue especially considering I used the same card with more reputable establishments to cover hotel costs for nearly 40 ppl, party bus service fees, etc. and, more importantly, it did not indicated such stipulations on the contract. I was instructed to provide an alternative form of payment at the time of arrival or the reservation would be cancelled w/o a refund! Considering I had dozens of guests and it was only the day before, I couldn't afford to cancel so I paid AGAIN (some cash and the remainder using my personal card) when I arrived and I was told (promised) by the manager that I would be refunded the original payment on the following Monday or very soon after. Besides witnessing a young lady get her eye literally split open by a glass and several more man handled by the bouncers, the club was tolerable - and I mean just "tolerable". First thing Monday, I contacted the club to inquire about my promised refund and was told by the business office that, in fact, the information I was given was inaccurate and I should not have been required to pay twice!!!! Nevertheless, I still could not be refunded in a timely matter because the Atlantic City location only opens on weekends and no one would be there to obtain the receipts for payments. She had to "prove" I paid despite the fact they had records of me paying using both my personal and the prepaid Visa cards. I usually don't name bash establishments but I feel compelled to inform others (and I hope Jay Z is reading this) about what to expect from the Atlantic City 40/40. This experience was so awful I am no longer a fan of Jay-Z because of it. So the only advice I can give to anyone considering patronizing this club is, DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friends and I work around the chelsea and flatiron area, so we decided to try a new bar for our after work meet up. One of my co workers recommended the 40 40 club- a little hesitant, I looked up their website- their drinks and food sounded so good! (Fried Twinkies! and Snickers!). Anyway, my friends and I met there and it was a nice bar setting- huge TVs showing the sport games, drinks were good, and the food was amazingly delicious!! If you want to kick back and relax after a long day at work- recommend the 40 40 club..and their fried snickers..
