From its beginnings as Timmy Regisford's floating House-music party, Club Shelter has evolved into a mainstay of the New York late-night scene. One night a week, for a marathon 13 hours, this unassuming hot-spot is a cathedral for House worship. The party begins at 11PM Saturday and wriggles and writhes into Sunday afternoon. It's not a typical scene -- regulars tend to look askance at glowsticks, macking and intemperance. It's about the music, dude. There's a bar and lounge, though most dancers power their endurance dancing with Gatorade, not hooch. -- Adam Mazmanian

If you want to get your dance on without all of the midtown stuffiness, this is defintely the place to do it. Be it straight, gay, bi, white, black, asian, green or purple. No-one realy cares the prerequiste is that you come dressed comfortably and be prepared to sweat.
