The SceneThis historic bar and jazz club is a study in unlikely harmonies. Sweatshirted locals and earnest college students sip old man-style cocktails to the gentle din of "Martin" reruns and contemporary R&B jukebox hits at the time-scarred front bar. But as the sunlight fades and the restored fin-bladed light towers bathe the Sunday best-dressed denizens in full deco splendor, it's not hard to imagine the club's heyday, when Billie Holiday held court in the Zebra Room. A renovation restored the beautiful tiled floor and mirrors of the oft-filmed art-deco interior.The DrawA Cab Calloway-elegant host greets guests and then ushers them into the Zebra Room to catch the buffet and show. With weekend jazz and Monday jam sessions continuing as ever before, the future of the Lenox Lounge seems safely assured.

The Best Service Ever...

On the weekend of February 23-24, 2007, I took a few friend visiting from Europe to Lenox Lounge with a few friends from work and we had the best time ever. The jazz show was $20 per person (very reasonable) and the menu selection and food quality was one of the best in NYC. It was great to take friends from Europe to visit such a historic landmark. I would highly recommend the seafood gumbo! I.T. James Investment Banker

Great Jazz, but horrible resturant, hostess seat people on top of each other, need more help, don't go for dinner!!

My girlfriend and I had dinner at Lenox Lounge the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and we were not disappointed. We were in NYC for the night (Philly residents), and decided to have dinner here. The Ribs, Mac&Cheese, Yams, were fantastic. The waiter was a little slow, but very polite. The barmaid made us some drinks (whiskey sours), and the atmosphere was very retro. I am planning to have dinner here again soon, and this time with my husband.
