Ava Lounge   

Hanging out in the indoor component of Ava Lounge is a heady experience in any season. Spread out over the top floor of Midtown's gaudy Dream Hotel, its floor-to-ceiling windows provide an awesome view of surrounding skyscrapers. Couple that with the bar's space-age furniture, and it's like you're in an episode of the Jetsons. In summer, though, the lounge truly comes into its own with a 2,500-square-foot outdoor patio. Comfortable lattice furniture, potted palm trees and chill music pumped out a low volume make the patio relaxing, tempering the excitement that comes from feeling like you're on top of the world. (During the winter months, Ava morphs into the Crystal Room.) The clientele is mostly hotel guests, but even jaded New Yorkers will appreciate Ava's charms. And as any native knows, Manhattan views don't come cheap; go at happy hour for drinks deals.
