8 1/2 deserves a 10!
By sunsplash517 on 10/18/2006
Brasserie 8 1/2 is a NYC must. From its super-plush atmosphere to its innovative menu, Brasserie never fails to impress. The decor alone is worth a trip past the lipstick-rouge "9" sculpture and into the glass lobby. A descent down the sweeping stairway leads you to one of my favorite bars to grab a drink or impress a date. Glass murals, leather seats, frosted mirrors - the details are what makes this place outstanding. It's gorgeous. The new fall dinner menu is impressive. The food is always delicious and beautifully plated. And don't forget to order dessert!

Best in town!
By lspeier5 on 10/12/2006
Brasserie 8 1/2 achieves a modern design, world-class cuisine and a relaxed, super-plush atmosphere. The lamb is always cooked to perfection and the trufle polenta with wild mushrooms is unbelievable! I love that there is a private dining room adjacent to the lounge for exclusive gatherings of up to 40 guests. This is one of my favorite places in town and I highly recommend it!

Fine Time

Was with 2 friends I love and we've eaten well all over the world together. We were very happy with attentive service and found food well worth the $380. Wine list is replete with bargains!

Skip Dinner Have a Drink Instead
By glassmirro on 01/26/2005
The space is truly incredible but the restaurant itself was disappointing. Service was spotty at best: waited twenty minutes for server to bring menu, ten minutes for cream for coffee (then it was cold, and another fifteen minutes for the check, and the place was half empty. The prices were inflated for the portions served although the food quality was O.K. Have a drink at the bar instead.
