Snazzy Atmospher, Great Food
By ccdmbhp on 02/09/2007
I wasn't sure what it would be like eating at the top of a "mall" where I normally associate a food court. Well, it was fantastic. We got there early, so we sat in the bar and had a drink -- it's a great, comfortable bar. Then we sat down, and the atmosphere and decor were terrific -- lively and fun. Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and informative. The food was unbelievable. This was a truly wonderful experience. What a night out to dinner should be.

Fabulous in every way

Loved Cafe Gray! Food is bursting with flavor, which is what I love. DOn't come here and expect simple, plan food - this is complicated, layerd tastes and textures. Zagat says menu does not change much but my experience is totally different, a few items that stay constant (for good reason) and always interesting updates and specials. SHort Ribs are among the most unique dishes I have ever had. Risotto is a must. On the lighter side the Kampachi is amazing as well as the Coconut Sea Bass. Servers were so friendly from the reservationist on the phone, bartender who remembers me and the various waiters. The room is modern and very lively, I usually spot one or two celebs or business tycoons. Serious food but fun atmosphere.

Highly recommend

While we waited in the elegant bar, we had a chance to admire our surroundings. After we were seated, the waitstaff was very friendly and answered knowledgeably any question we had about the menu. Having the chefs in the dining room did not distract us at all, and they did not obscure our view of Central Park and a lovely sunset. The food was superb, and I can't wait to return.

Overpriced high end chinese food is what comes to mind when i think of the food there with amuse bouche so strong in flavor im surpised no real gourmands have have chimed in about having there palate ruined for the rest of the night the pretentious wait staff are kill joys laughing at you behind your back and those poor cooks being paraded around like monkeys in suits getting yelled at by that jerk Kuntz in front of everyone the workers, the people who really make that place run are being abused low pay inaccurate payment of overtime and no benefits or payed vacation UNIONIZE that kitchen and see how well it does!!!
