terrible service, ruined party
By iriskas on 12/09/2007
My husband made reservations at Megu NYC for my birthday and it was the worst experience imaginable. First, it took him 3 days to make reservations for our table (18 people), as his information was passed from person to persom over the phone and no one would call him back for days. Second, while at the restaurant the orders were screwd up terribly and people were missing their meals. And third, which was the WORST of all, is that the bill was screwed up so badly that it took the staff 1 hour and 10 min to sort it out, and we never made it to our second destination and we paid the limo driver 1 hour and a half over because he was waiting for us for so long by the restaurant!! We were extremely unsatisfied, people were frusterated and while it's somewhat undesrtandable that an order can be occasionally messed up due to a large party, A RESTAURANT OF SUCH "HIGH CLASS" with SUCH HIGH PRICES was so unprofessional and so disorganized that we would never recommend it to anyone. On top of that, when we tried to reach a manager the next day, once again our info was taken but no one ever called us back.

Warning

I ate here with a friend on a saturday night. when i called for reservation thay told me nothing available till mid night. When we arrived we saw that the restaurant was not crowded at all and it never got busy. But still they kept us waiting till midnite. When we ordered sushi the waiter came back after a few minutes and said they are out of avacado. we said fine. Another few minutes he came back and said they are out of tuna. (can anybody believe this). The Edemame was cold with very small beans ($12). To make a long story short this place is a disaster. It's not worth a visit at any price. But the prices are outragous. if you don't beleive my review try it yourself.
