Bold, colorful, and lively are three words that describe the food and atmosphere at Mesa Grill. Amidst a brightly colored decor and a festive crowd, diners at Mesa Grill discover chef Bobby Flay's vibrant Southwestern-inspired cuisine, which has been dazzling palates since the restaurant's opening in 1991.

My husband and I were absolutely NOT disappointed with our choice for our last meal for the year! We found the atmosphere very nice, quiet enough to have conversation. . . the food was exactly as I expected. . . of course I was disappointed that we were not able to meet Mr. Flay : (

Hit and Miss

Nice atmosphere with open kitchen. Interesting architecture and decor. Margarita was good. Blue Corn Pancake and Pumpkin Soup appetisers were great. Salmon main course was great. Steak was cooked well, but a bad cut of meat with big blocks of fat and tendons. If I had known the entire piece was that way, I would have sent it back. Famous Southwest fries were overcooked and greasy -- never should have left the kitchen. The waiter was friendly, but never asked how the meal was. My guest said he overheard my complaints. If so, he never offered to do anything about the bad meal. Desserts were fine.

Im probably the biggest bobby flay fan, so of course after making my mouth watery for his shows, I decided to try it.. I was really looking forward to the 16-spice rubbed chicken, and I wasnt impressed at all, presentation was fabulous, but the flavors were bland, the ny strip was to die for, and the cilantro pesto mashed potatoes. were awsome, cactus pear margarita ooohhh so great.. I expected more food for my $$ but its the kind of place to have 3 coarse meals, if you want a full stomach...

Not that great

I went to Mesa for restaurant week and the food was not very impressive at all. I had a Mahi Mahi which was fairly boring and only garnished with a few halved cherry tomatos which I could make myself. the dessert was fairly tasteless -some sort of blackberry peach thing which just looked like blackberries and peaches with whipped cream...bad whipped cream...i can do that myself too.
