Momofuku Noodle Bar   

David Chang's humble ramen bar has earned him plaudits from the food press (He's a Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef 2006) and devotees from the chef world (Mario Batali has publicly professed his love for the pork bao). If you show up at this tiny food counter after 7PM any night, you'll find at least a half-hour wait. Like many popular restaurants in this city, Momofuku (it means 'lucky peach') is forbiddingly crowded, but do not be deterred. The food is so very worth the effort of procuring a seat: huge bowls of steaming soup, meltingly tender Berkshire pork and toothsome ramen noodles.
