While the name may have all the pizzazz of an outerborough subway stop and the decor may be best described as 'hotel bar-esque', the sophisticated restaurant more than makes up for presentation with its cuisine. Park Blue is part of a burgeoning platter of restaurants that are hybrid wine bar/upscale Spanish tapas bar. There are no entrees to speak of: only small plates. The selections are seafood-heavy, partly because the chef previously navigated the Atlantic waters at Aquavit. Grilled octopus comes with chipotle-potato puree, and seared black cod comes juiced in tomato vinaigrette. Other highlights include chilled oysters, codfish croquettes, and -- perhaps to prove that they are sans pretension -- a cheeseburger. The wine list is lengthy and international, and the cocktails, like a Green MarTEAni and a vanilla vodka-based Wake Me Up, are fruity and fun.
