For over 20 years, 'Sounds of Brazil' has occupied the cusp-corner of Soho, Tribeca and the West Village. In that time, it has honed its nightly live-music roster to reflect an exciting, explosive blend of world music, starting with Brazilian beats, moving into Latin Alternative, rocking to reggae and urban, foraying into French Carribean dance and hot-stepping to hip-hop and rap. Theme nights like 'SoulCity' keep the regulars rowdy, while an eclectic bar -- with a steel-drum full of island martinis, cosmos and cocktails (check out the Jamaican Rum Runner) -- keeps new crowds coming. A beefy South American menu is available for lunch and dinner, and many diners go the distance just to feast on the feisty Feijoada, Brazil's national stew.
