Rude Service
By langlisa8 on 02/11/2006
We had a very disappointing dinner at this establishment. The waitstaff was rude and the manager is even more rude. They clearly don't believe in in customer service. We asked the manager a very simple question and got screamed at for a mistake made by a staff member. Over-priced and not worth anyone's time.

Pathetic
By zelig23 on 10/10/2005
This is by far the worst dining experience I've ever had in NY. Fans of Wallse & Sabarsky will be horrified. When we arrived, they told us they were running a half hour late. We're told to wait in the bar area, which is jam-packed with 20-somethings (I'm pretty sure no one in the whole restaurant was over 30). We finally get our table 74 minutes after our reservation time (why didn't we just go to Katz's?). As we walk to our table, we notice that literally half the tables are empty. What in god's name were we waiting for? When we're seated, we complain about the wait (not for the first time), and the hostess comes over and says she'll give us her card at the end of the meal so that she can "take care" of us next time. Naturally, we never saw her, or her card, after that. The waiter is unapologetic, and asks for our order within a minute of sitting down. After our appetizer, I need to use the restroom. I'm told that the restaurant's restroom is "flooded" (the stairs that lead to it are roped off), and they direct me upstairs to the hotel's bathroom, where there's literally 25 people waiting in line (for one co-ed single-person bathroom). After 10 minutes and not much progress, I go back downstairs, and when no one is looking, bypass the red rope down to the restaurant's bathroom. As I expected, there is no flooding in the bathroom and it works fine. So then I go back to my table and my food is already there, and had been for 10 minutes, so it's now cold. Stupidly, after the meal, we order coffee. 10 minutes later, the waiter tells us that the coffee guy is backed up and we'll have to wait a half hour for coffee. We forego it, and when the waiter returns with our check he tells us that one round of drinks was on the house. How gracious! The whole thing was insulting, and the food was totally mediocre and not even worth reviewing (the desserts looked sort of interesting). It's partially our fault for not walking out 3 hours earlier.
