You know a pizza parlor is precious when the baker-owner has its name tattooed on his body and everyone working there is family. That's the story with this Coney Island relic, a near century-old throwback to when the Brooklyn Dodgers were on the radio, Coney Island was the biggest draw in town and long beach days were bookended by a mouth-watering visit to Totonno's. Inevitably, when a cozy, unpretentious pizza place has been serving impeccably coal-fired and crunchy pies for this long, one of the never-ending arguments tends to be: When was it better - then or now? Rest easy, white-pizza lovers, because even since the death of the original owner, this family-run gig still serves its signature sizzling pizzas with fresh ingredients like ripe tomatoes, hand-formed mozzarella and rising dough. There's another location in Manhattan with more menu items, but for the real original deal, mozzarella maniacs and crust connoisseurs head to Brooklyn. -- Yon Motskin

First off anyone that thinks this is the best pizza in New York which is the pizza capital of the world should really expand there pallet some more. It's above average with a thin well done crust fresh mozz but what really stands out is there sauce so is it worth the trip? the answer is a resounding NO! Di ferras is way better and worth a trip from anywhere and i mean it simply put THERE IS NO COMPARISON NONE WHATSOEVER! Di Ferras has this place tottaly beat. As far as service it's horrible in both places along with the decor but let's face it your going there for great pizza not ambiance with that being said bring your own bottle of wine and endure the almost garonteed wait time of one hour at di ferras and I garentee you you won't be dissapointed!
