Rate and Write a Review A deli with a menu of gigantic proportions has expanded into a restaurant with the addition of just a few tables. Named after a rural village in Puebla, Mexico, Tulcingo Del Valle pumps out some of the best authentic Mexican this side of the border. Found way west on 10th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen, the out-of-the-way-trek is well worth it for mole poblano enchiladas and huaraches that come at prices more Mexico than Manhattan. Huge portions of food surface from the bustling, tiny kitchen, whether it be chiles rellenos with a heaping side of flavored rice and refried beans, or chicken tinga soup accompanied by thick, hot homemade tortillas. Familiar in taste -- and just as good -- are the many Tex-Mex dishes (fajitas, burritos), as well that old American standby, the cheeseburger. Open for breakfast, Tulcingo offers spicy breakfast tacos aside from regular deli fare such as eggs on a buttered roll.
