Always great meals
I have been to many Italian restaurants around the world, yes even in Italy. The Villa is one of the best I have eaten at. It is a great place to bring family or business clients and feel secure that the meal will be a great experience. A real find in NYC.
just what you want
Every time I go to this restaurant, I think it gets better. It has everything you hope for--warm, welcoming service, delicious food served at a reasonable price, and a friendly atmosphere. More than once I've been here with friends, ordering more pitchers of wine than we planned, staying later, and the patient staff waited till we were finished before closing the door. Comparing this to the over-hyped Il Mulino is a joke. You want a great dining experience? Go to Villa Mosconi, order anything on the menu, and be treated like a valued customer every time you go there.
.
Mussels Oreganato---good
Ziti Bolognese--------very good
Caeser Salad---poor--no anchovies and why do they add vinegar to the dressing?
Osso Bucco with risotto---too dry; couldn't finish it
Zabaglione with berries---good BUT premade and kept in refrigerator and served cold-- not mixed just for YOU and warm, the way it should be
Tortellini---Good
SERVICE----------VERY GOOD
For the price--------Good
Village
Food was excellent. The prices are reasonable, especially for NYC. The restaurant is was nearly full but not too noisy. The waiters are a little grumpy but hey its well worth it.
