The New Age atmosphere at this sleek, serene vegetarian gourmet shop/restaurant is a welcome respite from the hustle-and-bustle of the city. Begin with starters such as spinach won ton soup, taro spring rolls, steamed vegetable dumplings and basil moo shu rolls. Entres have such exotic names as "Confetti-Land" (grilled wild mushrooms with new potatoes with mixed peppers, caramelized onions and fresh basil leaves) and "Jewel of Happiness" (minimushroom steaks atop a bed of mashed sweet yams with Szechuan garlic sauce). The noodle and rice dishes are exemplary, and the nondairy banana pie tastes surprisingly rich. Also located at 34 E. Union Square, 212-614-9345, and 2170 Broadway, 212-501-7768.

Its good but they wont let you have it your way. No substitution so food is often wasted.
