Rate and Write a Review The Scene: You're probably not getting into Marquee, so any information may be moot. A-list clubs get tired of the eventual influx of hoi polloi and have implemented a number of schemes to cull the crowd. Owners Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss, who went about the process of opening a club (they never had before) by touring clubs all over the country. From there, they chose the best elements, from design to sound to service. The main room has a chandelier of glass beads surrounding the retractable disco ball; it affords a "grand entrance" view of anyone ascending the wishbone staircase to the glass-enclosed VIP mezzanine (which has its own bar). Downstairs, adjacent to the main room, is the sexy "red room," which plays a more subdued soundtrack better suited to conversation. Drinks are outrageously priced, and the entire space is bottle-service-only for anyone wishing to sit. Ah, the hierarchy of celebrity can be so difficult at times. Spotted Here: Marquee has developed a cult following among celebrities, particularly trendy young Hollywood gals in town for Fashion Week, movie premieres and VIP birthday fetes. If Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are in town, it's a good bet that they're either here or at Bungalow 8. Can I Get In? As previously stated, probably not, since the club has a fairly strict guest-list-only policy. Your best bet is to show up on the early side or on an off night and look seriously posh.
