Manager = Garbage
By CutieTM326 on 08/03/2009
I wish there was a negative scoring system because it pains me to give 1 star. If you enjoy being near trashy people, being a trashy person yourself, or wallowing like trash in garbage only to be manhandled by a greasy garbage man - be sure to “skip to your loo my darlin” - right in to this Belmar Dump Dive. I see a few other people have had the same sorts of issues with this place. Obviously disappointment is just to be expected if you go here. Aside getting nasty whiffs of garbage every few minutes because of the awful crowd this place attracts, it also has a definite dirty mob stench going on. The so called Managers (to the world outside D’Jais they’re called Garbage Men) who “handle” the goings on in this place spend far too much time and energy overexerting themselves just for the purpose of attempting to offend their customers. Apparently they are keen to the fact that they can’t make cash respectively like other businesses, so they feel the desperate urge to overcharge people and later refuse them refunds. This has another name outside D’Jais too – it’s called stealing. If they weren’t already so ignorant inside their D’Jais bubble, I would tell them to take a look at meaning to the phrase, “Shooting oneself in the foot”. I was overcharged for something. Being in the service industry for years and having half a brain, I know how to handle a problem like this in a respective, friendly manner. Let’s just say I understand that you catch more bees with honey. However, this Garbage Man had the education of a shoe horn and was beyond any kind of rationale. Let’s call him Tony Michael. Tony said he had been there 30 years, which is probably true. I don’t know of any other “Oceanview Bar and Café’s” that allow garbage men to front as Managers. Anyway – even though Tony Michael was unable to help me out, I’ll offer 2 friendly pieces of advice to him since these 2 may be all the can handle - 1) Get help for your drug problem, and 2) find out what “Shooting yourself in the Foot” means. That should bring you up to speed with the rest of the planet.

Love Monday's with band Holme!
By kimvargo on 11/20/2007
This place may not be for everyone, especially those who don't like crowds, but if you want to meet people and have some fun, you can do it here. Drinks prices are normal for similar clubs and they do have happy hours and drink specials. Love to go there on Monday nights to hear the band 'Holme'. This band re-united a couple of years ago - they were very hot in the 80's and perform great rock to dance to - or sing along with. This is one talented ensemble with several guitarist, drums of course, sax & brass... If you sign up for Holme's email list, they'll send you a coupon for a free drink to redeem on Monday... I know many people who met their spouse's at D'Jais... I did.... :)
