It's like an all-star team of nightclub barons: Michael Ault of now-defunct Pangea, Gypsy Tea co-owners Karl Alomar Ronnie Madra, and Corey Kane of Pink Elephant have amassed all their club capital to create an A-list destination in (where else?) West Chelsea, tapping exclusive club designer Steve Lewis Design (Marquee, Butter, Spa) to create the ideal celebrity habitat. It's all part of the "rock-star meets jet-setter concept." Black-leather ceilings press down towards wine-colored wooden floors, with a dim red hue and countless plush couches scattered throughout, with coves and corners lending an air of privacy, but with enough visibility for those looking to be seen. Hand-and-foot service, selective door (so much so that one promoter had to apologize to those on his list for difficulty getting in), and pricey bottle service culls the commoners, and it's worked the celeb sightings must add up to a month's worth of 'Entertainment Tonight' features. Be sure to make reservations, be sure to know an owner or promoter, and be sure to have money.

The place itself was very nice, but the guy at the door was a complete JERK. (not the bouncers, just the guy who does the door) I went with about 20 people. Half of our party went in with no problems. When the other half got there they were refused entry and told that they had to buy TWO bottles. It was ridiculous, so we all left. Again the music and decor was nice but the door man is on a total power trip and needs to get over himself.

One of the major venues on 27th street in Chelsea, Home definitely is a spot worth checking out on the right night. Entry is tough without reservations or bottle service, but once inside you'll enjoy a nice labrynth of lounge seating circling the main bar. Music is mixed, and it wouldn't be surprising to hear a blend of electronic, top 40's, and 80's at the same time. Drinks are on the expensive side, but most of Home's neighboring clubs don't cater to light wallets either. For a full venue profile go to www.nightliferatings.com
