Rate and Write a Review Choosing among the myriad restaurants that line Ferry Street is no small feat. This area, known as the Ironbound, is bursting at the seams with eateries serving up seafood any way you like it -- grilled, steamed, broiled or in wonderful, aromatic paellas. This Spanish institution, while somewhat removed from its Portuguese neighbors, will not disappoint. From the ornate stuccoed facade decorated with ironwork to the heaping portions of super fresh fish and shellfish, its a great choice. Noisy, busy and family-oriented (don't expect a quiet conversation), its always a party inside. And dont worry about long lines - - this restaurant holds masses of people, so youll probably be seated fast. -- Jeanne O'Brien

My Favorite
I have been to 6-7 restaurants in Ironbound. This is my favorite. Expect a wait on weekends.
What can you say?
Great fun, great food and great wine not to forget the great people.
Consistently excellent
What a treat! This place is and always has been a superb place to dine. The food is always well-prepared and the portions are enormous! The sangria adds just the right touch and the desserts----where do I begin?!
The management does a great job of expediting a truly hectic scene with grace and composure. All of this is served by wonderfully attentive waiters who appear when needed, but never hover or rush. Never had a mediocre dining experience. We try to visit every time we come to Newark from Texas. BRAVO!
