Rate and Write a Review The Park West Diner comforts the likes of truckers, townies, starving motorists and your occasional weatherman -- apparently Mr. Al Roker himself even drops by for a nibble. Once a standalone diner without anyone but the trees for neighbors, the place is hard to miss as you travel westward on busy Route 46. The shiny, chrome-like exterior acts like a massive homing beacon for the hungry. Step inside and you'll notice the uncharacteristic cleanliness of this 24-hour North Jersey stop. The reddish neon-trimmed walls bring you back to a pseudo '50s era, but owners know how to keep light years ahead of their competition with four oversized plasma screens adorning the walls. It's typical diner fare, which gives you a range of common eats, but go for the salads. With more than 20 choices, the owner's personal concoction known as "John's salad" (baby mixed greens, red onions, tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, fresh strawberries, mango bites and balsamic vinaigrette dressing) will make you forget you're actually eating salad from a diner.
