Sakura Bana Restaurant   

Editor's Note: Sakura Bana is closed for renovations and will reopen in March 2007. They say you can't have too much of a good thing, and in the case of Ridgewood, that thing could be fine restaurants. Located a mere 50 feet from the nearest Japanese restaurant, Sakura-Bana could easily get lost in the shuffle of new spots that seem to pop up everywhere you look in town. But this small establishment succeeds for one good reason: great food. The sushi and sashimi are among the best you'll find in these parts, and the teriyaki and tempura are second to none. Best of all, prices are moderate, so you can indulge to your appetite's content. Meals are available for takeout, but be sure to call ahead. Otherwise be prepared for a wait.
