Stewart's Root Beer   

The month of March marks a season of new beginnings. Spring-training baseball. Warmer weather. And for fast food connoisseurs in and around Kearny and North Arlington, March means the reopening of Stewart's, a too-cool-to-be-real old-fashioned root beer stand with car-hop service. This fun '50s throwback once played host to a location shoot for 'The Sopranos' featuring Tony himself, and its orange-and-black burger headquarters sits just across the road from the Belleville Bridge. There's plenty of good root beer to be had, and with good root beer comes great root beer floats. People also flock to Stewart's for terrific burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and fries. Enjoy yours on one of the outdoor patio tables, or -- if there's a chill in the air -- just drive right up and take advantage of car-side service. You can imagine yourself time-warping back to the days before everyone started counting calories.
