Diva Lounge is hugely popular: It attracts an affluent, attractive clientele, including a healthy segment of local celebrities (Geraldo Rivera counts as a celebrity, right?) and athletes (Martin Brodeur, Michael Strahan). All that would be worthy of note in New York. Yeah, Diva may be a little expensive for a Jersey club (though the martinis are still cheaper than across the river). But it is surprisingly comfortable, with velvet couches that are actually soft, and copper-topped coffee tables placed in positions that are aesthetically and ergonomically efficient. The dance floor is always live, with different types of music every night of the week, and the gourmet tapas work well as a post-workout refill. Call in advance and reserve a table by the dance floor: it's yours for two hours, you have your own waitress and the $20 minimum goes by so quickly that you won't even notice. You'll be too busy noticing everything and everyone else.

Sexy @ The Roxy continues this friday night. Doors open at 11:00 p.m. and the guestlist closes at 1:30 a.m. Use the BLAZE guestlist for reduced admission. This party is 18 and over and this week their is a special performance by Suzanne Palmer singing her house hit "Hide You" as well as resident D.J. Johnny Vicious celebrating his birthday bash. sometimes, you just got to open your mind and appreciate the finer things in life...i sit back and read some of these reviews and laugh. a die hard new yorker, abducted to montclair, couldn't be happier to have found the only venue in jersey worth visiting...montclair is the lesser of the suburban evils, and it has the only hip club around. why travel into the city, when you've got everything you need at Diva Lounge..the atmosphere is ultra-cool, the vibe and decor is better then the best of them in soho, tribeca or anywhere else in the city...the food is great..and the drinks are better than anywhere else i've drunk...and believe me...i know my cocktails!! the security is refreshing (not goombah bouncers), the staff is beatiful and friendly...and the music is diverse on a nightly basis....so what , the crowd isn't solid in any color...doesn't that make the best party?...open your mind kids...you've got a real jewel right in your own backyard. Cover is dirt cheap and the place is gorgeous...WAKE UP JERSEY...THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

on friday, feb.2nd, we met about 25 of our nearest and dearest at this place called DIVA LOUNGE. i had heard about it, but never been. we walked in and felt like true DIVAS. the place is really HOT. the guys are gorgeous and there is no cover for women before 11pm. the drinks are the best i've ever had in jersey, being a ny snob. they had valet parking, really cool doorman, velvet everywhere, and the music was incredible...i just lost myself in the whole damn ambiance. i have never brought my nyc friends to visit me in the godawful land of jersey, but now i finally have a place that i feel can stand up to the best of what my beloved lower east side has to offer. hats off to diva lounge, for being brave enough to bring the truly original lounge atmosphere to a starved state.
