Rate and Write a Review Oklahoma City has a new masterpiece to house its famous works of art. The three-story limestone opus looks and feels like a million bucks, or more like the $22.5 million it took to complete the 107,000-square-foot building. A dramatic three-story atrium introduces museumgoers to the work of Dale Chihuly, whose 55-foot glass sculpture reaches toward the ceiling. Ready to feature famous collections from afar, the new special exhibits gallery boasts an extra 3,000 square feet more than the old space. The second- floor galleries stretch across 9,000 square feet and fill the area with the museum's 17th- through 19th-century art, maps of the Holy Land, engravings and a print gallery with special exhibits featuring the art of printmaking. The top floor spreads seven galleries across 12,000 square feet to display the largest collection of modern art in the state. Aside from the art galleries and special exhibits, visitors can sip a cup of latte in the coffee lounge or walk through the museum store. -- Randy Cole
