Very Average
By wbsbeauty on 02/09/2005
The best thing at Pelican's is the salad bar. It has good veggies to choice from and good soups. Most of the items on the menu are only average at best. If the restaurant would not try to offer so many things maybe they could be good at the few things they would offer. The way it is now is that the menu is too big for them to be good at any of it. Seafood is very low quality. I could make better at home from my local grocery freezer.

My family and I have been at this location several times over the past 3 years. The last 2 times the service was terrible and the food was below standand. I love fish, any kind and fixed almost anyway. When I find a favorite I tend to stick to it. There Red Snapper was very fishy tasting, well below the standard of when we first ate here. Sorry, with the bad fish and waitstaff that acts like you are impossing on them to take your order I won't be back.

One of the Best

I love this place. The main reason? The food. I've been to both the Midwest City location and the northside one. The atomospher is a little different in each. Far and away the absolute best restaurant to be found in Midwest City - very nice, yet equally inviting and unintimidating - first place I ever had escargot and the best I've had since (love them snails). The north side restaurant has an equally pleasant yet more spacious atmosphere - a great place for group events and that kind of thing I guess. Again, the best reason to visit - the food. The catfish is hands down best I've ever had. The stuffed sole is one of my favorites. The cocunut shrimp are unique and incredibly tasty. Variety is plentiful. The french onion soup keeps me always coming back. Just wish I had their recipes - a definite winner.
