Our steaks were so tender we didn't need a knife. But the salad was the size I would serve a child. And the choices for what to eat with the steak were very limited. We would have had to wait almost two hours to be seated but when some seats opened up at the counter we grabbed them. This just goes to show that the food is well worth the wait. They do need to remodel, though.

Sadly, the marketing and location are better than the food and service in this classic restaurant. Salads are small and unimaginative. Steaks are good, sometimes very good, but not great. It is a good place to go for experiencing the stockyards district, but not as a restaurant destination in and of itself. It is not that far from a 'fair' rating. The wait is often long, but perhaps it is a victim of its marketing success as what is delivered is simply average. Good place to take a one-time visitor, as it seems to be consistent, but wait and slower sevice can be annoying.
