Tex-Mex food aficionados of Oklahoma City often refer to Ted's Cafe Escondido in hushed tones of reverence. This legendary spot is an absolute smorgasbord of Mexican delights. The homemade flour tortillas are as thick as pancakes, the green "Atomic" salsa is the best in Oklahoma, the complimentary queso is plentiful, and the fajita portions are extreme. Ted's is also famous for its stellar service. The well of beverages, chips and salsa does not run dry in the crowded dining hall. Ted's is famous for its food and service, but it is also infamous for its wait. The owner has opted not to expand Ted's to new locations, but rather to keep his restaurant special. Be sure to show up 30 minutes to an hour before you intend to eat and get your name on the list. Run some errands in the meantime and build your appetite. Ted's is worth the wait. -- Steven Stark

The Greatest Food & Service

I have eaten at Ted's at least once a week for more than fifteen years. Never had a bad experience. Not one. The food is consistenly superb, and the service is second to none. Oklahoma City is lucky to have Ted's. If the wait is a concern, try Ted's for an early lunch or dinner. Or, suit up, show up, expect a crowd, and know the wait will be worth it. Enjoy.

To stand in line for this...you have nothing better to do in your life. Best mex food is southside anyway. And no lines.

Stop in to see the wait

Trust me, If you do not have time to wait, no stop by. But, the portion size for the prize is welll worth the wait. I stop in with a friend, that mention Ted's to me. On a Friday night I did not have nothing to do(dateless). I been back every weekend (3)since then . The portion size are incredible for the prize and the food is excellent ; not to say it's the place to be on the weekend. I love to mingle, I have met and commenteded on the wait. But, everyone I spoke to was in no hurrry to leave. (lol) That should tell you something. I'll be back Friday. Keep up the good work, your doing wonderful. I would open a larger outdoor sitting for the nice summer weather. BOBOnOK
