There are a couple of things one should know about Kokomos before heading off to the venue. First, its an amazing top 40/hip-hop club with enough energy to power Orange County, but it does have some drawbacks for certain people -- certain older people. Yes, the people that frequent this club are young, with the majority being under 21. This is great news for the UCI undergrads that have nowhere to go, but it can be harrowing for anyone over 25 (theres nothing more depressing than realizing that youre aging -- rapidly.) The other concern is that its parking lot is a major danger zone: Irvine police are known for hiding out in the shadows, waiting for a group of kids to stumble into their car from the club, and then pull said car over for infractions (usually a DUI). What can you do? Bring a designated driver.
