The element that hits the strongest when taking in the Sutra Lounge is the air of romance. The decor is predominately a modern take on classically Asian elements with authentic details like an antique opium bed, an oversized statue of Buddha in the foyer and a stunning color scheme consisting of black, maroon and gold accents. Since the restaurant opens at dusk, the quixotic atmosphere is increased tenfold. The clientele is what you'd expect from a posh restaurant of this caliber: young-ish, good-looking, trendy and with money to burn. That's not to say the food is overly expensive. The exotic menu of lobster, shrimp, and game hen swimming in indulgent sauces and glazes is served appetizer style, which encourages one to order more ''entrees'' than usual. Factor in a couple of drinks from the bar's outstanding wine or cocktail list and the tab for two can reach a princely sum.

Thursday Night dancing
By m2sexalicious4u on 09/28/2007
If you want to go out on a thursday night and stay local-Sutra is the place to go (Tentation is good too but it's usually house music on thurs, (club eclipse) at fury is not that great on a thurs but go there on a fri and you'll have a good time) Sutra: Like the ambiance. The dance floor gets packed but there is a pretty good girl:guy ratio. Dress to impress:Girls should be able to get in free with some good negotiation skills.

I recently went to Sutra Lounge for dinner and was blown away by the food! I wansn't expecting much, but every dish that came out was delicious... especially that steak with blueberry sauce. Delish!! Make an evening out of it and stay for dancing and drinks too.

SUTRA was 10 now only a 5
By lax15nd on 12/11/2005
I use to attend sutra on a regular base. I loved the place; it had beautiful women and great music and the line was about 250 deep. But the last couple of times the bouncers were complete jerks and the hostesses were just as snobby. I was confused when it came to customer service; they gave me the impression that I needed them more than they needed my MONEY. It’s kind of funny that the owner hasn't picked up on it, last time I was there the line was topped off at 2 people and it was peek hour, on top of that the people inside were very ugly. I wonder who loosing business. I think my favorite thing about sutra is their nappy looking GO GO’s.

Don't go!
By lallac on 10/13/2005
Took my friend for a b-day dinner. Food was ok...not great. Since we didn't pay for a bottle service you have to get up and just stand around w/your drinks in your hand since there's no place to set them down..let alone try and find a place to sit. Finally the club started...dj was average...nothing special. At least we didn't have to wait in line and pay the ridiculous $20 cover. I won't be back.
